Brian is a great teacher. The first lesson together he makes sure to focus on your likes/dislikes and you end up with a very custom session.

Brian Murphy is a great guitar teacher. He teaches you from the basics to those hard solos. He lets you chose the songs you want to learn and will help you every step of the way. You don't even have to go to him, he comes to you so you don't need too worry about getting there on time. If you have any problems he helps you with them. He has taught me from playing simple chords to playing songs like " Black Dog", "Iron Man", and "Hotel California". Brian is a great guitar player and teacher.

I am teaching guitar privately. I can go to your home(Rockland County) or give lessons in my home(Stony Point)(Limited hours). I also have taught at Rockland Music and for Music to Your Home.
Having trouble finding the right teacher locally?
Webcam lessons are also a possibility. Good for long distance lessons, late night/off hour lessons....(see below).
Individualized lesson programs are geared toward the style of music, artists, and bands you are interested in. Chords, Scales, theory Students usually give me a list of songs with a CD that they are interested in learning. Students are encouraged to read music so later on they have the ability to learn songs from books and magazines for themselves.

You will need a webcam or video camera with a built in microphone connected to your computer. You will probably need a tripod for a video camera. Make sure the computer meets the minimum system requirements for the WebCam and WebCam software you purchase.
High speed internet connection- Cable , DSL ,etc.
Software:
On a Mac use iChat
For Pc there is Skype or Yahoo Messenger(Windows Live Messenger)
( I had trouble with AIM during testing. Could try again if you are interested)
